Painting memory into immersive space.

Working with a small international team, Dan painted and animated many of the film’s environments in Quill. Each space reflects a different point in the protagonist’s life and emotional evolution.

His work also included environment art, animation, VR layout and much of the camera choreography — guiding the audience through memory, metaphor and time without breaking the intimacy of the story.

From Sundance to the Academy Awards shortlist.
